Montreal tops every U.S. city I've visited with its clean, comfortable transit system, expanding REM and commuter rail, and smooth VIA Rail connections—plus pedestrian-friendly streets, working public amenities, and incredible parks along the mighty St. Lawrence. Its vibrant nightlife, stunning Centre-Ville, and multicultural vibe draw people from across the French-speaking world and beyond—an absolute gem I regret discovering so late.
